QB — Daniels path, streamers for byes

Jayden Daniels, QB Washington Commanders — Sourced path toward a Week 5 start. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo (via NBC Sports, 6 Oct): Daniels (elbow) is “on track” to start vs the Giants. Coach Dan Quinn: goal is a full week of practice and a Sunday start. Marcus Mariota sprained the MCL in his right knee in Week 4 in London; Quinn said he will work off to the side with no firm return timetable (ESPN; Washington Post, 5–6 Oct). Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis finished Sunday. Desk colour: Anthony expects Daniels back; if he is not cleared, there is no certainty around the starter given Mariota’s MCL — that tracks the source picture, but Friday practice reports still decide it.

Michael Penix Jr., QB Atlanta Falcons — Returned from torn left ACL; Week 4 MNF vs Saints: 15/20, 223 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT (second start back). NFL.com lists him among Week 5 conversation; FantasyPros notes Week 5 vs Baltimore is less appealing than Week 6 vs Chicago. Desk colour: with Carolina and Kansas City on bye, Penix is a solid streamer / depth add — labelled opinion, not a stamped QB1 rank.

Jacoby Brissett, QB Arizona Cardinals — NFL.com Week 5 waiver table lists Brissett (~10% ESPN) facing Detroit. Lions have allowed the most fantasy points per game to QBs through four weeks (~27.9; FantasyPros / RotoBaller). Bryce Young just threw for 329 vs Detroit in Week 4. Ugly Week 4 line for Brissett (3 INTs) does not erase the matchup. Desk colour: Anthony calls Brissett against a leaky Detroit defence the strongest pickup of the QB group this week — that aligns with RotoBaller’s top QB waiver framing; still a stream, not a season-long stamp.

RB — Mixon out of Seattle; Wilson leads

Emanuel Wilson, RB Seattle Seahawks — Confirmed. ESPN’s Adam Schefter: Seahawks opted not to sign Joe Mixon to the practice squad after his physical (also NFL.com, Seattle Times, 6 Oct). Jadarian Price is on IR (chest). Wilson led Seattle in Week 4 vs Chargers: 21 carries, 81 yards, 1 rush TD; 3 catches, 39 yards, 1 receiving TD (ESPN). George Holani and Velus Jones Jr. round out the active depth; Zach Charbonnet is in his 21-day practice window (NFL.com lists Charbonnet as the top overall Week 5 waiver priority if/when activated). Desk colour: if Wilson is still on your wire, pick him up for the Seahawks — Mixon’s non-signing leaves the lead role clearer short-term; watch Charbonnet’s activation separately.

Keaton Mitchell, RB Los Angeles Chargers — Confirmed Chargers (not Ravens). Week 4 usage spike continues the path noted on last week’s wire: RotoBaller / Yahoo frame him as a primary pass-catching back in a committee with Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal. Desk colour: great receiving back and the only bright spot out of the Chargers backfield for Anthony — lots of injuries and byes league-wide make him worth a spot if you need him. Brian Robinson Jr., RB Atlanta Falcons — Week 4 MNF: 14 carries, 62 yards, three rushing touchdowns alongside Bijan Robinson (desk MNF wrap; RotoBaller). Desk colour: continues to be successful and is worth an add as handcuff / flex insurance — three goal-line scores are the sourced floor for that take.

Will Shipley, RB Philadelphia Eagles — Saquon Barkley is week-to-week with a hamstring (NFL.com); Tank Bigsby to IR (core muscle). Shipley is the only healthy Eagles RB if Barkley sits (Inquirer / Delaware Online / NFL.com ~1% rostered). Week 5: Eagles vs Jaguars at Tottenham. Desk colour: Anthony does not like Shipley against Jacksonville, but if you are desperate with Saquon injured you could add him — it is a hard one to predict. Tough rush matchup is also flagged by FantasyPros start/sit notes.

WR — Bengals churn; Steelers consistency; Bills one-week

Dohnte Meyers, WR Cincinnati Bengals — Spelling confirmed (NFL.com; NBC Sports). Former CFL receiver in his first NFL season — not a traditional drafted rookie, though Anthony’s “rookie” shorthand fits a first-year NFL path as desk colour. Week 4 vs Jaguars: 7 catches on 9 targets, 82 yards after Andrei Iosivas (IR) and Colbie Young (knee) were out, with Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (adductor, day-to-day per Zac Taylor / ESPN) exiting. Roman Wilson, WR Pittsburgh Steelers — NFL.com Week 5 WR section: six targets, three catches, 60-plus yards and a touchdown in consecutive games; ~4% ESPN rostered. Hit-or-miss volume through one month, occasional FLEX upside if volume holds. Keon Coleman, WR Buffalo Bills — NFL.com No. 3 overall Week 5 waiver (~4% ESPN). Week 4: 6 catches on 7 targets, 116 yards, 1 TD. DJ Moore (Bills — not Chicago) aggravated his left AC-joint shoulder Sunday; Week 5 status uncertain (SI / Yahoo / FantasyPros). Desk colour: if you need a one-week player, Coleman is worth a look unless Moore starts, in which case Coleman may be restricted — that matches the sourced Moore watch.

TE — Gesicki, Washington, Strange

Mike Gesicki, TE Cincinnati Bengals — NFL.com No. 7 overall Week 5 waiver (~10% ESPN). Three touchdowns in four games; FantasyPros notes 11-155-3 on 15 targets and a larger snap share in Week 4 (61.8%). Soft Week 5 spot at Miami if Chase and/or Higgins are limited. Desk colour: as with Meyers, Gesicki is a top target for Burrow’s Bengals on the injury wave — streamable with the path labelled as desk colour preference.

Darnell Washington, TE Pittsburgh Steelers — Steelers Wire / USA TODAY (2 Oct): Rodgers and McCarthy weaponising Washington (6-7, 264) as a red-zone mismatch; Rich Eisen “wagon” note after TNF goal-line work. RotoBaller: worthy deep-league stash / TD dart. Desk colour: regular red-zone target for Rodgers but boom/bust — do not invent weekly snap leadership beyond the red-zone framing sourced above.

Brenton Strange, TE Jacksonville Jaguars — Week 4: 7 catches, 95 yards (RotoBaller breakout notes). FantasyPros lists him among Week 5 TE streamers (~27% in one column); Eagles matchup is tougher on TEs than last week’s spot. Desk colour: solid and consistent spot start if you need one.

Defence / IDP

Austin Booker, DL Chicago Bears — Rising rotational edge: SI Bears snap notes Week 4 vs Jets (~20 snaps / ~62% in that report); season line through four includes sacks and a forced fumble on Pro-Football-Reference / NFL.com logs. Desk colour: worth an add if you need DL help — labelled as Anthony’s IDP preference, not a printed overall IDP rank.

Jamien Sherwood, LB New York Jets — Full-time Jets linebacker; Week 5 hosts Cleveland. Yahoo / FantasyPros IDP boards keep him in the streamable LB tier. Desk colour: Anthony’s pick of the LB depth this week.

Grant Delpit, DB Cleveland Browns — Near every-down safety: Deep Metric / LeagueLogs-style snap boards put him at ~99% of Cleveland defensive snaps through four; 100% in recent TNF notes (Dawgs By Nature). TNF wrap already on this desk: game-sealing INT on Rodgers. Production has been hit-and-miss for fantasy; the snap floor is sourced. Desk colour: hit and miss but on the field nearly 100% of snaps, so worth an add.

Pair Bengals pass-catchers (Meyers, Gesicki) only while Chase and Higgins are cloudy; do not invent their Week 5 designations before Friday. Brissett is the matchup stream; Penix is bye-week depth. Shipley is desperation with a hard Jacksonville landing spot. Byes remove Carolina and Kansas City — check your benches before you claim.
