NFL · Week 5 · Injury desk · Updated Sat reports

Marvin Harrison Jr. is inactive while the Cardinals finalise a trade. Lamar Jackson, Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith are out, and Ja’Marr Chase is awaiting clearance.

This is the Week 5 injury board updated with Saturday’s (US) reports and final designations for the Sunday and Monday night games. Joshua Palmer is out for Buffalo on Monday night. Hollywood Brown is out for Philadelphia, and Dallas Goedert returns. Jefferson, Jeanty and Stevenson are Questionable. The Panthers and Chiefs are on bye. Desk colour is labelled.

Updated Sat reports. Statuses use the official designations (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, IR) from the final injury reports. Where a team has added news since then, it is attributed. Inactive lists come out about 90 minutes before each kickoff, and nothing had kicked off when this was updated. The first game is Eagles–Jaguars in London at 9:30am Sunday ET, which is 11:30pm Sunday Brisbane. Anthony’s reads are labelled as desk colour. Byes this week: Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs.

The big one — Marvin Harrison Jr.

Marvin Harrison Jr. (ARI, WR) — inactive. ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that the Cardinals are finalising a deal to trade Harrison, and that the team told him he will be inactive for Sunday’s game against Detroit while the trade is completed. Schefter did not name a destination. Pro Football Talk and Pro Football Rumors report that the Texans are the likely destination, which would reunite Harrison with his Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud. Nothing is confirmed until a team announces it. Sources: ESPN (Schefter); Schefter’s post; AP; PFT; Pro Football Rumors.

Jeremiyah Love (ARI, RB) — good to go. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday with his ankle, then practised fully on Friday and carries no designation. Mike LaFleur called it “a maintenance thing with ankles.” Sources: Arizona Sports; Cards Wire; NBC Sports/Rotoworld.

Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson (BAL, ankle) — Out. Tyler “Snoop” Huntley starts on Sunday night at Atlanta, and Trey Hendrickson (finger) is also out. Sources: NFL.com; BaltimoreRavens.com.

Jayden Daniels (WAS, left elbow) — starting. He practised fully all week and will wear a brace on his non-throwing elbow. Sources: Commanders.com; ESPN.

Jalen Hurts (PHI, calf) — no designation. He appeared on Friday’s report with a calf issue but was a full participant. Sources: NBC Sports Philadelphia; CBS Philadelphia.

Tyler Shough (NO, left hand) — full participant, no designation. Source: Saints official report.

Eagles — banged up for London

Out: Saquon Barkley (hamstring), DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Hollywood (Marquise) Brown (ankle, third straight week), safety Marcus Epps (groin) and centre Drew Kendall (knee). This is not A.J. Brown, who was traded in the offseason and is on New England’s injured reserve. With Tank Bigsby on IR, Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce are the backs.

Returning or available: Dallas Goedert (knee) was a full participant on Friday, has no designation and returns after missing two games. Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring) was limited but has no designation and is expected to play. Zack Baun returns from his concussion.

Jonathan Greenard (ankle) — Questionable. He did not practise this week, so monitor him. Sources: CBS Philadelphia; Philadelphia Inquirer; NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Desk colour: the Eagles are banged up, and the defence is hurting too. Labelled as such.

Bengals — Chase and Higgins

Ja’Marr Chase (CIN, concussion) — Questionable, awaiting doctors’ clearance before he can play. He was a full participant on Friday but remains in the concussion protocol. He needs clearance from the team physician and an independent neurologist, which was expected on Saturday. We had not seen it confirmed when this was updated. Zac Taylor said he is likely to play if cleared. Sources: Bengals.com; AS USA; Yahoo/PFT.

Tee Higgins (CIN, adductor/neck) — Questionable, but good to go on his Friday practice. He returned to full practice on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday. Reports say he will test the adductor and neck in warm-ups before the final call. Sources: Bengals.com; RotoWire; AS USA.

Running backs

Ashton Jeanty (LV, ankle/foot) — Questionable, in jeopardy. He did not practise on Friday, and the Raiders called up Roman Hemby from the practice squad on Saturday. Rookie Mike Washington Jr. is the expected lead back if Jeanty sits. Desk colour: not a lot of confidence in Washington. Sources: AP; USA Today; The Big Lead.

Rhamondre Stevenson (NE, knee) — Questionable. He was limited in practice but told reporters he is “ready to go” and plans to play. TreVeyon Henderson is the alternate if he does not go or is limited. Sources: Patriots.com; Patriots Wire; CBS Sports.

Alvin Kamara (NO, back) — Questionable and a big question mark. If he sits, Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson are the remaining backs. Desk colour: not a lot of confidence in that pair, and Anthony would prefer tight end Juwan Johnson to get the short-yardage passes. Sources: Saints official report; Heavy.

Cam Skattebo (NYG, shoulder) will play, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt (WAS, groin) upgraded to full practice and is cleared. Sources: NBC Sports/Rotoworld; CBS Sports.

Wide receivers and tight ends

Joshua Palmer (BUF, shoulder) — Out for Monday night against the Rams. He was hurt in Friday’s practice. DJ Moore (shoulder) is Questionable after a limited session on Saturday, which leaves Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman atop the depth chart, and rookie Skyler Bell will be active. Desk colour: Shakir and Coleman see an uptick, but Josh Allen loves his TE room too. Sources: Bills.com; ESPN; AP.

Justin Jefferson (MIN, ankle), Jordan Addison (MIN, hamstring) and Ben Yurosek (MIN, TE, ankle) — all Questionable. Jefferson and Addison were limited all week, and Jefferson says he expects to play. Kevin O’Connell will decide on Sunday morning. Yurosek has been designated to return from injured reserve. Desk colour: Yurosek is not a prominent cog. Offence isn’t Minnesota’s strength, but someone has to play. Sources: Vikings.com; ESPN.

Chris Olave (NO) was a full participant and has no designation. Source: Saints official report.

Stefon Diggs (WAS, hamstring) — Out after not practising all week, and Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is Questionable. The Commanders have a long injury list this week. Sources: Commanders.com; ESPN; NBC Sports.

Giants: Malik Nabers, Cam Skattebo and Isaiah Likely are all good to go. Likely was a full participant on Friday and is off the final report. Sources: PFT; RotoWire; Giants.com.

Brock Bowers (LV, knee) was a full participant on Thursday and Friday and is off the report. Source: NBC Sports/Rotoworld.

Rams (Monday night): Colby Parkinson (TE), Aaron Donald and Jaylen Watson carry no designations on the final report and are cleared to return. Terrance Ferguson (TE) remains on IR. Source: TheRams.com.

Patriots — banged up

New England ruled out both starting corners, Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) and Carlton Davis III (neck), plus WR Mack Hollins (calf), for the Raiders game. A.J. Brown (ankle) is on New England’s injured reserve and eligible to return in Week 6. Source: Patriots.com.

What this item is not

There are no invented diagnoses, timelines, snap counts or rankings here. The Harrison trade is reported as finalising, not completed. The Texans are named only as the likely destination per PFT and Pro Football Rumors, and Schefter named no team. Chase’s availability depends on medical clearance we had not seen confirmed at the time of updating. Desk colour (Shakir/Coleman and Allen’s TE room, Washington confidence, Juwan Johnson short-yardage, Vikings offence, Eagles defence) is labelled. Inactives about 90 minutes before kickoff are final.
